How Does Flexi-T Work to Prevent Unwanted Pregnancy?
Flexi-T from Trimedic is available in different sizes to accommodate the needs of all women—no matter the age or size. It is a small, flexible, T-shaped plastic (polypropylene) device with smooth, rounded tips and pure copper tubing. After the physician inserts it into the uterus, the Flexi-T’s copper releases traces of copper into the uterus, effectively preventing sperm cells from reaching the egg, which prevents the fertilisation process.
In the highly unlikely event that fertilization of the egg occurs, the copper prevents the egg from uterine wall implantation. Flexi-T begins working immediately after insertion, which makes the device an ideal option for emergency contraception and a safe “morning after” solution.
Over 99% Effective Contraception for Five Years
The Flexi-T is highly reliable with a less than 1% risk of pregnancy, making it more reliable than most other forms of contraceptives, including oral contraceptives. A copper IUD provides over 99% pregnancy prevention for five years at which point a patient must schedule a removal appointment with their physician. If the patient wishes to become pregnant before the five years is complete, the Health Care Provider should schedule a removal before attempting to conceive.

Provide Prescription
Provide a prescription to your patient to fulfil at a local pharmacy
Schedule Visits
Schedule two appointments. One for the insertion process, which takes approximately 20 minutes and another to ensure the IUD is inserted properly.
The Patient is Protection Against Unwanted Pregnancy
Immediately after insertion, the patient is protected against pregnancy for up to five years. If the patient wants to become pregnant before the five years are complete, simply schedule an IUD removal appointment.
